I’m back… let’s see if I can stick

I don’t know why but I suddenly got the urge to blog again. Last time I got on here I attempted to keep blogging but then it proved that my endurance was that of a fat man at a triathlon. I’m gonna put more effort behind it this time and actually try to be an adhesive of sort. Glue like to the blog world. Please don’t hold me accountable though because it will be even more devastating to have to hear my own failures being rubbed in.  Just enjoy I guess and feed of the words from a man who is at times speechless and drink from the creativity from a man who is at times scatterbrained. I don’t promise pleasure but I do hope it won’t hurt. I apologize if it does in advance.

Till we meet again… I shall be back. Until then, here is a video to make you smile for now.

Flight Of The Conchords: The Tape of Love

Been A Long Time, I Shouldn’t Have Left You, Without A Strong Blog To Step To

So I’m really going to try this time around.  I’m going to blog more and that’s not part of my New Years resolution. As a matter of fact the only New Years resolution I set for myself this year is to live more simpler.

Life can be full of joy if you slow down. I always wanted to enjoy all that God has created and this includes people and nature. You can’t really get the full affect if you’re constantly busy and confuse yourself into thinking that modern technology is more fulfilling. You miss out on life this way and God’s gift to us.

I’m cutting out Internet time and TV time and by doing this I’m adding better quality relationships and a better appreciation for life.

See Ya On The Flip-side

Great Day

Today was a good one. This is how every day should be. I woke up at 5:30PM and got ready for a friends wedding. It was so good to see him get married. It reminded me of my big day and how beautiful my bride was walking down the aisle. Phillip is one of those guy friends you have that is the last on the list to get married. Well, surprise, surprise. He matured so much and I am so proud of him. Once Christina and I got home we watched a very good movie. Edward Norton is my favorite actor so I have to see everything he plays in. The Painted Veil didn’t seem like my type of movie. I think the reason why I liked it so much is because I got to watch it with my wife. It’s been so long since we sat down together and just rested. I miss days like that. We got to talk to Jason for a little while. It so awesome to have a roomie. We need to spend some time together soon. After the movie we went out. It was 2:15AM and yes, we went out. Quincy joined us too, on a ride to the community pool. We layed on one of the benches while Quincy roamed around. Christina has been really excited to watch the meteor shower since it only comes around once a year. I must admit it was impressive. Alltogether I saw 8 meteors (or if you want to call them shooting starts) and Christina saw 10. God really put on a show for us. It was a great night and I will cherrish all of those type of moments forever. I later realized that compromise in a relationship is really important. I love movies and Christina loves nature. Tonight we compromised and had the best evening in a long time.

Thank you Father for your everlasting love. You knew that Christina and I  needed some time together and alone and you provided. It’s funny how you are always on top of things and we are wandering in oblivion. Faith is the key to your kingdom and holiness is the path we should strive to stay on. Times get hard but we need to always remember that the holy spirit is with us and that your promise is forever engraved. Lord you are so powerful and mighty, so merciful and glorious, so kind and gracious, so faithful and so so holy. I pray that you keep bringing in fruit to the patio and that you have a smile on you face when you think of us. In Jesus name….

Amen

Hunger=God

After reading Hals blog about fasting I was encouraged to encourage others a little more.

Fasting is so critical in our times today but is disregarded just like meditation. If you look anywhere in the bible you will see how highly regarded fasting was. Jesus himself fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. So if Jesus did it for 40 days, we should try and at least give 1 day a shot for now. Our need for a location as a church is huge and fasting as an entire body of Christ is crucial for us to get an answer.

Why is fasting beneficial? Every time you think “I’m hungry, you have to remind yourself that God will provide you with all you need to make it through”. So remember that feeling hungry is exactly what you want in order for a fast to really work. Also if you didn’t know,  fasting has been known to increase concentration. So this will only help you focus more on God and not just more but better. This is the perfect time for meditation because your mind is completely in Gods hands.

For those who are getting a little scared that you might starve to death, please don’t worry. For a human body to go into starvation it takes up to 40 days of no eating. The growling you’re hearing is only a spoiled stomach that is used to eating so much. Drink a lot of water and a lot of juice. This will help out a lot. I drank almost a whole bottle of V8 juice last night at work and it helped with the craving.

So I’ll pray that you’ll do well and that you pray whenever hunger kicks in. So remember it’s not “Hungry? Grab a Snickers”, it’s “Hungry? Grab a Bible”. Love you all.
